Benjamin Millepied is mainly known for being a choreographer, but it’s been 20 years that he is also a photographer. He always had a camera with him to photography on the street or to document his dancers and his shows. There is a very close and dialectical relationship between his photographic practice and his shows. Benjamin thinks that he can’t work on the body, on a choreography, without really knowing what is the human body, and how people are reacting in the city. Photography is a tool that enables him to transfigure the everyday life. It’s his first solo exhibition, where he considers photography not only as a tool to analyse the body and to map things. Finally, we are discovering the photographic work of Benjamin Millepied, and it is a good thing.
