Reply OliviaDaughter April 9, 2017 thanks Reply Kayanda Eddings January 10, 2018 I haven’t been flying in 18 years almost. The first time I went flying was when I flew from San Jose California to Anaheim California in my ears didn’t bother me. But this summer after almost 18 years, I’m going to fly from Sacramento California to Greensboro North Carolina. That’s where I’m concerned about my ears being in the air for a very long time. Actually, I have to fly from Sacramento California to Atlanta, then take the second flight from there to Greensboro North Carolina. I just hope and pray that I make it through the pain of my ears. Please wish me luck. Glad that you found something that works. Reply Snapefan1971 June 27, 2019 I know this is so late in responding. If you haven't already tried this, I HIGHLY recommend going on Amazon.ca and ordering a set of THREE Earplanes: I bought them in late April/early May for a trip to Ireland. Since a Child my ears were so painful, I'd almost be screaming. The last time my Brother, Sister-in-Law and I flew, we went to Florida. My Mom to visit her Sister for probably the last time. Of course she would choose the last hour to strike up a chat, face the wall and expected me to answer. When I informed her she said something. Remember thinking "No, you do NOT understand. It's so painful I could cry, scream cause a scene." She got mad, I wasn't answering her, and I broke down and screamed at her "I can't hear you and my ears hurt like hell".No amount of swallowing, chewing on Gum, using a Lollipop, having a drink and her FAVOURITE, putting kleenex in my ear worked. So this year I head about Ear Planes, read the rave reviews, thought "Why Not,?". My GOD. Talk about RELIEF! I put them in an hour before the plane started its decent. I kid you not when I say "NO" ear pain at all. the trick is, you have to wait until they open up the doors to even out the pressure.Try them, if they worked for Me, I'm hoping they work for you. Reply a pebble June 27, 2019 I’ll definitely try the cotton in my ear but I’m going to try it with Vaseline on the cotton as my doctor recommended it, I have a flight in 3 days and I usually have sore ears so I’m kinda scared and hope this works or at least relives it a bit! Reply Georgia May June 30, 2019 Thanks xxxxx Reply NoahNoodle July 5, 2019 2 years ago, It was the first time in a while that I was going on a 4 flight trip, 2 flights to get to the location, 2 flights to get back. The first and last flights were about 5-9 hours long and the 2 and 3 flights were around 2 hours. The first long flight….. I’m fine 🙂. The second short flight…….. Had never been so shocked from tension then instant pain. I was crying so bad and all I had to do to try and cope for it is bite as hard as I could in a paper towel. Worked a bit. It still hurt after an hour so I took some medicine and didn’t take to long to feel ease. The third flight I took some chewing gum and didn’t get my ears hurt. Fourth flight I didn’t have chewing gum but actively took medicine during the flight. As we descended I could feel the slightest of tension and my ears clogging up randomly, I started to hear children cry and felt sympathy for knowing the pain they were going through. Didn’t get hurt for the rest of that day. Around 2 and a half weeks ago, same type of vacation but this time the fourth flight is being replaced by an 8 hour bus tour. First flight, I step on board armed with chewing gum and take around three pieces throughout the flight. As we were descending througj the clouds, I could feel a familiar tension. THEN BOOM 💥. My ears hurt a lot, didn’t scream or cry but it looked like I was having a seizure in my chair from the pain. Took around 20 minutes and most of the pain went away. The second flight I took medicine and through the whole flight did not get hurt. In fourdays I am about to go on the 8 hour bus trip and after that I’ll have the final flight in five days. I’m not going to do the clogging ears thing but will be taking medicine because I wish to listen to music whilst on the flight. Wish me good luck!
