How to Get Rid of a Stye On the Eyelid Fast 😎 [STYE EYE TREATMENT]

How to get rid of stye on your eyelid
fast? Now this is what we’re talking about today. I’m Dr. Jenna Zigler with
The Dry Eye Show and I’m basically going to start out by telling you what a stye
is first of all and then you will kind of realize why you want to get rid of it pretty quickly.
So a stye is basically just a build up of oils and bacteria that are in your
meibomian glands in your eyelids. It is kind of like having a
pimple on your eyelid. So basically these oils and bacteria they build up in your meibomian glands
and they can get clogged just like a pore or a gland and
your skin can get clogged and you end up with this huge pimple on your eyelid that is red and swollen and
painful. So some of the things that you will notice if you have a stye, you may have a
a little bit of a swollen eyelid It might be red over the area.
You might even notice a little bit of pus drainage or crustiness on your eyelashes
around that area. So those are some of the things that you will notice.
You may even notice that your eyelid hurts. or your eye actually hurts. So those are just some of the symptoms. Now you do want to get rid of it as quickly as possible
because first of all it is unsightly to have a stye. People can see it on your eyelid a lot
of the time and it is just not something that you want to have on
your eyelid while walking around So another reason is
because it can become an infection that spreads You can end up with an
infection of your entire eyelid which is absolutely harder to treat and more dangerous for you.
Some of the things that you can do to get rid of a stye really quickly on your eye, first of all
it is going to be warm compresses You can of course do this with a wash cloth and warm water but it is way easier if you have a dry eye mask.
There are tons of dry eye masks out there that you can try and there are
lots of ones that you put them in the microwave for
normally about 20 seconds or so on high I always tell you to test the temperature on the inside of your wrist to make sure that is is not too hot You are not going to burn yourself.
That is not the point here. You want it to be comfortable
for your eyelids. Then you will just close your eyelids put your mask on. Let it sit for about 10 to 20 minutes. Whatever you are comfortable with and what that does is the heat really
gets in there and it helps to dissolve those compacted oils that are in your meibomian glands and it can help to kind of drain that stye. Which was really what we are going for. The same type of thing
will help with a pimple on your skin. Heat is really going to help
to melt those oils. So that is the first that you are going to do. The second thing you are going to do is you are going to make sure that your eyelid hygiene is on point. You want to use a hypochlorous acid cleanser Which is super gentle. It is natural. It is made by your body to fight bacteria and things like that A hypochlorous acid cleanser is really what we recommend We like our Heyedrate Lid and Lash cleanser but you can use any of them that are available on the market All you have to do is close your eyes, spray the cleanser on you rub it in and let it dry. It is as simple as that. When you have an active stye you can use it up to 4x a day but I always want you to be using it at least 2x a day. Even when you do not have a stye because it is going to help prevent you from getting a stye in the future Those are really the two main things that you should be doing to get rid of a stye really quickly and if you do these things and your stye if you catch it early your stye will be gone within a week. Now of course we always recommend that if your stye is getting worse or it is not getting better by doing these things then you may need something more You are going to want to see your eye doctor for that. If you feel like you have got a stye That is just not responding to warm compresses and eyelid hygiene and things like that. Once again this is Dr. Jenna Zigler with The Dry Eye Show and we just talked about how to get rid of styes fast
