sty Eye sty is also known as hordeolum in medical
terms. It is acute infection of the oil glands of
the eyelids. It is caused due to dirt, makeup or debris
blocking the oil glands with bacteria. It is a form of acute infection the may eventually
form a head filled with pus. Eye Sty is characterized by a pus-filled,
pimple-like bump on eyelids. It is developed mostly on the outer or inner
edges of the eyelids. The eye stys usually subsides within one or
two weeks. With proper treatment and natural remedies,
the healing process speeds up and the pain is relieved. The following are some good remedies to get
rid of eye sty. Home Remedy # 1 Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar has antimicrobial and
anti-inflammatory properties. It reduces the swelling and infection. Its low acidity will heal the eye stye quickly. take 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar, 1 cup
hot water and Cotton ball. Dilute the Apple Cider Vinegar in water. Soak the cotton ball in this mixture. Squeeze out the excess liquid and place this
over the stye for a minute or two. Home Remedy # 2 TURMERIC Turmeric is wonder herb which is very effective
in getting rid of the sty in a short span. It reduces inflammation and removes infection-causing
elements that contribute to the condition. take turmeric and water and boil both in bowl
until the solution is reduced to half Cool and then strain it through a cheese cloth. Use this solution to wash the affected eye
area Repeat two or three times daily for a few
days. Home Remedy # 3 Honey Honey has skin moisturized property which
is beneficial in reducing the itching sensation in the affected area. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties
are useful for treating eye stye. take 3 tablespoons honey and 2 cups of hot
water. Mix the honey thoroughly in water and bring
down the temperature of water to warm. Rinse the affected eye with this. Repeat this twice a day. Home Remedy # 4 GREEN TEA Green tea is natural remedy for healing and
getting relief from eye sty. It has anti-inflammatory compounds that reduces
the pain and swelling. Dip a green tea bag in warm water for a few
minutes. Remove and squeeze out the excess water. Close the eyes and press the moist tea bag
over the affected eyelid. Hold it in place for five minutes. Home Remedy # 5 Epsom Salt Epsom salt works as an astringent and gives
relief from the pain. The warmth of the water will help to reduce
the stye in no time. take 1 cup warm water, 1 teaspoon Epsom salt
and Wash cloth. Mix the salt well in the water. Soak the washcloth in this and place it on
the affected eye. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Home Remedy # 6 ALOE VERA Aloe vera is yet another very effective home
remedy for treating eye sty. It is very effective in reducing redness,
swelling and inflammation and speeds up the healing process. Cut open a leaf from an aloe vera plant and
extract the gel from it Rub the gel over the infected eyelid
Leave it on for 20 minutes Wash your eye area with lukewarm water
Repeat this remedy a few times daily for at least a week Home Remedy # 7 CASTOR OIL Castor oil has ricinoleic acid which is also
anti-inflammatory agent. It is very effective in healing the eye sty
by reducing the pain and inflammation. Wash the affected eye area with baby shampoo
and warm water Apply a warm compress over the affected eyelid
for five minutes Use a cotton swab to apply castor oil on the
raised bump on the eyelid Repeat twice daily for a few days Home Remedy # 8 Tea Tree Oil Tea tree oil is an excellent antimicrobial
agent that is used to treat infections. It is also good at reducing inflammation and
promotes healing. take 4-5 drops tea tree oil and 2 tablespoon
clean water. Add the oil to the water and mix well. Place this mixture in the fridge so that it
stays cool. Apply a drop or two of this to the affected
area and leave it on. Home Remedy # 9 Potato Potato is another helpful home remedy for
eye sty. Due to its astringent properties, potato helps
contract the tissues and reduce skin irritations. Grate a medium-size potato. Wrap the grated potato in a cheesecloth. Place the cheese cloth on the affected area
for five to 10 minutes. Follow this remedy two or three times daily
for four days. Home Remedy # 10 Coconut Oil Coconut oil will keep the skin hydrated and
reduce the swelling. It will also kill the bacteria causing the
eye infection. take Coconut oil. Rinse the affected eye with clean water. apply warm coconut oil on the affected eye. Leave the oil on for as long as possible. Home Remedy # 11 Bitter Gourd Bitter gourd works as a detoxifying agent. It will help in cleansing your skin and removing
the eye stye effectively. take Bitter gourd. Cut slices of the gourd and apply it directly
on the stye. Leave the slices on the eyes for 15 minutes. Remove them and wash the area. Home Remedy # 12 WARM COMPRESS Applying warm compress to the affected area
of the eyelids is very effective in treating eye sty. This also helps in reducing the pain and swelling. Dip a clean towel in hot water and wring out
the excess water. Close the eyes and place the warm compress
on the affected eyelid. Hold it for five minutes at a time. These home remedies are highly effective in
