received a letter from his insurance company saying they were going to list him with a
preexisting condition of ear infections. [Male VO] Health insurance companies use pre-existing
condition stipulations to not cover patients for anything having to do with those conditions. [Female VO] I felt completely powerless. My
son’s health insurance company held all the power. [President Obama] Starting this year, insurance
companies will be banned forever from denying coverage to children with preexisting conditions. [Female VO] The Affordable Care Act makes
it so I know my children are covered, and that is an amazing feeling.
