Reply Mark Montedoro September 21, 2016 what should have been a happier day on Sept. 17, 1997 began with tears for a successful star and entertainer of our time Red Skelton who had passed away at 80 years of age.I haven't cried in 1997 on the day he died because he went without me hearing and not knowing he was ill. It is 19 years and to the day later that I learned he passed away while I watch Ed a prerecorded show on "YouTube's The Dini Petty Show" where she interviewed the late Great Red Skelton. Reply FarOutWest September 27, 2016 I've had a framed wooden picture of John Wayne holding a Winchester 1973' since 1983 but I have loved his Westerns since I jumped out of the womb..My dad whom was born 6 years after the Duke liked his American persona, and his love of country. My father served twice 1932 -1936 Again 1941-1945 in the Navy. My dad was a wrestler and boxer in high school and boxed and wrestled in again plus a Chief Gunner in the island battles. Hard core…. Now my father had a sense of humor and loved Red Skelton to boot….. Thank You for this memory that takes me back in time…… Reply Larry Stromberg September 29, 2016 Two of my all time favorites.. Reply 1950Grendel August 10, 2017 Wayne had a lot of nerve doing a comedy sketch with one of the greatest ad-libbers on TV. Skelton paid little attention to the scripts because he didn't like other people writing for him, and it took a pro to stay in with him. Two of the best. All time. Reply john tabler August 18, 2017 Wayne had good comedy skills and Skelton's career speaks for itself I'm not hung in the past but modern comedy is too often like Jr high school boys on a school bus trying to be cool by mentioning sex and using swear words, I miss standarts Reply Ping Pong August 19, 2017 Gone but never forgotten both masters of their trade. Reply Dale Bolen November 17, 2017 Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It's a shame there's nothing on TV that makes you laugh like that that the whole family can watch Reply mark lee November 21, 2017 That was great tv back then not like 👎 the crap now 😌 Reply Ronnie Spain March 7, 2018 I am Still here Reply Daniel Fronc April 6, 2018 I, too, grew up watching Red Skelton and he was a comic genius. Many equalled his talents but no-one I know of exceeded them. He was also a very talented painter. Reply Katherine Stewart April 7, 2018 As long as reality shows get good ratings we'll keep getting stuck with them. Don't want to watch them, then don't watch them! There is new talent out there and I'm sure it's possible to have new classic shows if we would stop falling for the latest reality show. This is why I don't watch prime time on the major networks these days. I do watch METV, Antenna TV, This TV etc instead. I'm hoping one of them will syndicate the old Carol Burnett show too. Reply markscj5 April 23, 2018 She sounds like Alice on the Jackie Gleason show The Honeymooners. Reply Gary Daniel May 5, 2018 Rattlesnake steak by the inch. I like it. Reply Joe McMurry May 27, 2018 John Wayne is as funny as Red Skelton! Reply We Own The Night June 1, 2018 Red Skelton or Dean Martin, can’t go wrong with either show. Guys and girls with insane talent and a lot of class basically goofing around. I’m what some might call Generation Y, despite being kind of an old soul for my age I’ve always felt this is what sketch comedy should aspire to be like. Reply Jeff King June 3, 2018 Now THIS is television ‼️What a master Red Skelton was ‼️ Reply snugbug June 6, 2018 Red Skeleton was in a class by himself. John Wayne wasnt only a good actor he had a wicked sense of humor too. Reply William Mawk June 28, 2018 I remember when we only got two channels on our blk & wht T.V.. In the evening after all the chores were done and dinner had been eaten our family of five sat around and watched QUALITY T.V. Shows included The Ed Sullivan Show, The Jack Benny Show, Raw Hide, The Honeymooners, I've Got A Secret, The Grocho Marx Show, Lawrence Welk Walt Disney The Red Skelton Show and several other quality shows. There was no swearing, no nudity, no taking drugs on screen and nothing vulgar at all. Life was so quality back then. Everybody worked unless they had a handycap and were unable to. Children had chores and were taught to show respect.Red Skelton was everyone's favorite, He was funny. Reply Lantern Of Gallifrey July 20, 2018 They don't make them like that anymore Reply ollycrush August 2, 2018 can hear with human hearing why? Reply Wagner PD August 6, 2018 👎because No Audio. Reply KAT 69 August 13, 2018 Lol I Love these fellers🏇 I esp miss John Wayne! My father looked just like him, he wore cowboy boots, Hat & was Good with guns (he was [email protected] a gun club😁) he intimidated All my friends w/o speaking, & men were always wanting to fight him, w/o provocation! My father was also a story-teller, a jokster, a loving man, So let's just say, my Mother had to beat allot of women off the porch;. but he was a devoted husband, & Never lost a fight! Ahhh.. "Those were the days!" And I'd rather watch these shows, than watch CGI, Any day! "Remember The Magnificent Seven" Heehee Reply Pete_ Hine_Of_PA August 21, 2018 I think Red Skelton was one of the funniest comedians on TV and never said or needed a four letter word to get a laugh, Red's saying not mine in his last day of his last series of shows on TV. I liked Benny Hill too. I do not think Red Skelton or Benny Hill has ever been replaced with anyone as funny, just as no actor has ever filled John Wayne's acting shoes. No matter what John Wayne's roll, from cowboy, to detective, to a sea captain, he was always entertaining. Reply Thomas Cogburn sr. September 10, 2018 This is two great actors. Reply Jimmy Rolin Jr September 23, 2018 Learn to lo e life no matter what it brings because life is short and death well it's forever… Reply Bobby Christian October 13, 2018 TV was so much better back in those days. Comics were actually funny. None of the left wing insanity on TV back in those days. Actors and comics didn't place stupid left wing politics above their professions. In my opinion the left wing has destroyed TV. That is why I don't watch much TV now. Too many actors, talking heads, and comics pushing the lefts socialist agenda instead of good, clean, entertainmentComic's jokes are sick not funny. Reply Gary Clouse November 24, 2018 Why isn't comedy funny any more?? All we get is some foul mouthed woman who is long past even shock value! No longer funny but rather just disgusting! Pathetic! Reply Glenn Webster January 21, 2019 I miss John Wayne.. Reply Jim Velasquez January 25, 2019 Western movies Reply Jade Zee February 7, 2019 john wayne was a real american!.people like to attack him for being a racist and a bigot..but those who knew him always claimed it was his alcoholism that made him say those things.it is well known he was a nasty drunk and was totally gassed by the afternoon…he started drinking around 8am…but..others claim he drank because he used booze to deal with his homosexuality….but to me being gay is no crime and all the actors drank…many were drunks like wayne…and i cant hold his racism against him cause for white people at the time racism was a way of life.john way was a TRUE example of what being an american is all about! Reply Doris Gerwitz February 7, 2019 H Reply Wintersburg Outback March 24, 2019 That was and still is FUNNY!!! A real family oriented show that made us to feel proud to be an American citizen. Now they're cramming bunch of junk down our throats and poisoning our kids.
